DESIM was founded in 2012 to meet the ever-growing need for quality translation services. Then in 2014, the company DESIM Linguistic Services inc. was founded to better position its branding identity.


Isabelle Pouliot, an English to French translator certified by the Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec (OTTIAQ) is the founder of DESIM Linguistic Services inc.

Ms. Pouliot is also a member of the American Translators Association (ATA) and of the Northern California Translators Association (NCTA). She served as webmaster on the board of directors of NCTA from February 2015 December 2017. She also served as vice president from February 2017 to February 2018.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications, specialization in journalism (Université du Québec à Montréal, Canada); a graduate diploma in International Journalism (Université Laval, Québec City & École supérieure de journalisme de Lille, France); a certificate in Translation (McGill University, Canada); and a graduate diploma in Translation (McGill University, Canada). She also completed the Professional Sequence in Editing program at University of California, UC Berkeley Extension.

She’s a contributor to the blog Le mot juste en anglais, a blog targeted to French speakers interested by the English language, which publishes her French translations or articles originally written in French.
